Get ready to launch SSPI’s members’ Career Networking series with a session built around one of today’s fastest-moving industries: biotechnology and healthcare. Instead of pairing unrelated fields, we’re bringing together alumni who share the same industry but have taken wildly different paths through it — so you’ll leave having explored multiple routes into one thriving profession, not just a single narrow lens. The afternoon opens with speaker introductions and a moderated discussion, and closes with an open Q&A where absolutely anything is on the table. Whether you’re plotting a career pivot, hunting for a mentor, or simply eager to grow your network in biotech, this is where those connections begin.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Cameron Uy has spent half a decade in small molecule formulation and process development since entering the pharmaceutical industry after earning his B.S. in Bioengineering at UCLA — along the way building a research background in triboelectric nanogenerators for environmental and biometric sensing, point-of-care diagnostics via lateral flow immunoassays, and controlled drug delivery using red blood cell membrane-coated nanoparticles. Now a Senior Research Associate at Gilead Sciences, he focuses on rapid end-to-end drug development and has led his team in creating several long-acting HIV treatments and fixed-dose combination products, driving critical-thinking-focused efficiency that has expedited timelines from bench to patient.
