Have you ever wondered how we explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life? Understanding the environments of other planets is critical to detecting life beyond Earth, as is being able to recognize how different life might appear on our instrumentation. In this talk, Bernadette Mary Dineen from the Tufts Planetary Chemical Analysis and Astrobiology Lab explores Martian-generated gases and how they affect the local ice environment and the possibility of subsurface life, providing a new perspective for the future of life detection on Mars.
