Gwang blog ✌🏼

Hello kind reader,

It’s me once again. Today, we had our final lecture in the lecture room, our final meal in the dining hall, and our final night in the dorms. I woke up to the sound of the water dripping from the light in the shower. The water definitely is not good water since the water that has collected at the bottom of our shower has a brown hue to it. I think it’s interesting that the day that I have to write my blog always seems to align whenever our room is leaking. The place that the housing people patched the last time it was leaking in our room began leaking again too. Today marks the beginning of the end for our time here at SSP. In the morning, Shivani gave the last TA talk on models for congenital heart disease (CHD), which I thought was pretty neat. We had our final lunch in the dining hall, and following that, the laundry rooms became a tourist hotspot, as everyone had made the brilliant idea to wash their clothes all at the exact same time.

Ethan folding his clothes and getting ready to leave on Sunday.

After dinner, I packed up my stuff to avoid being sprayed down with water by Kelvin. Later, I made kimchi jjigae in the kitchen with Gabriel and Reddy made chicken tikka masala, both of which were pretty good, to say the least.

Since it was last night, the faculty told us about the SSP tradition to stay up all night at the lecture hall. On top of that, I had made the smart decision to pack up all of my things, including what I had been sleeping on, so without any other option, I also decided to head to Foster to spend the night there.

Once I got there, I rolled myself up into a burrito and slept like a log.

As I am writing this and fading in and out of consciousness, I’m realizing that it really is the end. A few hours from now, we will no longer be on this campus, no longer be in the lecture room, no longer be in the lab, no longer be in our dorms, and no longer be with the people we met here. SSP is an experience I do not regret one bit and although I did not always see eye-to-eye with some of the people here, I have come to respect where they are coming from and wish them all well in life. Life is far too short, and the world is far too small to hold anything against anyone else. I’ll see y’all later.
