Purdue Bacterial Genomics Day 26: Earhart and PCR
Today I woke up at 7:30 AM and got up to go to our first lab of the day, where we found out that we had to redo our PCR. How unfortunate!!

Unfortunately, we had a lot of problems with our genes, so we had to redo our MIC and our PCR. This was very frustrating as a team since we only have one week left to finish our paper and our poster for presentation. However, good vibes only; we’re redoing it another day.
We had lots of open lab time where we had to catch up on the assignments that are due on Saturday. We didn’t have that much to work on, thankfully.
We walked over to the Memorial Union and got sushi from the new place that opened. I got very unlucky; I should’ve ordered a roll, but I decided to get a bowl where they added a whole clump of wasabi, and I had to throw away the whole thing because it tasted inedible. I think they just didn’t pay much attention to mine because my friend’s looked really good. So my friend and I walked over to Wiley dining hall where we ate with our other friends.
Afterwards, we walked back to the lab and had more open lab time. We worked to finish all of our assignments. Today was a relatively easy day, not much labs and a lot of open lab time for us to work on our research paper discussion and results and our posters.
We had dinner and saw the Earhart statue, and it turns out it’s her birthday today!
We had more open classroom time afterwards, and we headed back. The beautiful sunset I get to see every time I walk back to our dorms. 
My roommate Roksana and I headed down to the basement to meet with our friends Ruth and Nicole to practice for the talent show that’s next week! Really nervous for it, but I’m hoping it’ll be funny. That was my day!
