Purdue Biochemistry Day 32: GO BIG ORGO HOME!
What’s popping, y’all! It’s Amanda clocking in from the airport (& maybe the bus and her house) to write her blog. As the saying goes, they save the best for last!
We didn’t have to go to CHAS until 9 am, so I obviously didn’t wake up until 8:30 and might have been a tad late, but that’s ok! The morning was spent doing surveys, which were very uneventful, but I did catch a photo of Jaydon and Daniel for some reason doing pushups.
I also got to take some last photos of CHAS. So many memories were made here, especially with the hours we spent here working on labs, writing our paper, and making our poster (definitely fun times).

After all the surveys, we finally got our vouchers to go to lunch! I decided to spend my last lunch at the Union to have Choolah, and apparently, everyone else did too, because tell me why the line was actually so long. “Last day of summer science, everyone wants Choolah,” quoted the guy who was serving me my food. Good thing we did not have anything to do after lunch (besides dinner), or else I would have been cooked!

After lunch, I went back to my dorm and was greeted by my wonderful and amazing roommate, Gauri. We spent our time packing, and it might have been sad, but we were playing music, so it was all good.
She then left me to go bowling with Isabella and Alanis, so I decided to pop over to my second dorm (Ellie & Chloe’s dorm). I also decided to be big and microwave my cookie in the basement. Thank you to whoever gave me that bright idea.

(Microwaving my cookie! It was very delicious, which is good because I paid $5 for it at the farmer’s market on Thursday. It was the last farmer’s market of SSP, so I decided to send it.)
I hung out with Chloe, Tiffany, and Ellie for like an hour before getting ready for dinner!

Gauri and I got ready for dinner together and decided to play some Pitbull to feel hyped. So many people also randomly popped into our room while we were getting ready, but it was very nice because it felt like a party in our room.

After spending so long getting ready for dinner, we were hit with the fact that it was raining outside. The trek over to Earhart dining hall was not fun, but I did see this guy wearing THREE fluffy bucket hats (I forgot to take a picture in all this chaos). We also had to go to dinner 30 minutes earlier than usual because we were scared we weren’t going to get our reserved room, as there had been so many new summer camps coming to Purdue the past 2 weeks. Turns out we should have come earlier because our room did in fact get taken again, but it’s ok because we slowly claimed our room back.

We were supposed to walk to the Purdue arc to take a thank you video for SSP, but since it was still raining after dinner, we had to pivot and go to the Harry Potter room. I was kind of happy for that because I did not want to walk the distance to the arc in my heels. We also did our certificate ceremony in the Harry Potter room.

After the ceremony ended, we got the chance to have everyone sign our lab coats, along with taking many, many, MANY photos. Many people cried, and there was also sad music being played (idk why we thought that was a good idea).

After the whole shabang at the Harry Potter room, some people decided to go to the Purdue fountain to run through it, but I was not about to do all that, so I decided to just stay in the dorms. My roomie came back shockingly fast from the fountain because it turned out there was actually no water spewing out of the fountain. I closed out my night karaoking in Ellie and Chloe’s dorm and went to sleep knowing the impending doom that was going to happen the next day.
