Since 1959, SSP International has been giving students transformational opportunities to learn, do, and belong in science. That mission has never rested on staff alone — it’s carried forward by a global community of volunteers who show up in every way imaginable: mentoring a college student embarking on a new career, reading an application with a careful eye, showing up to help at an event, or tabling at a community event to promote our programs.

There’s no single “type” of SSPI volunteer. Some of you are alumni who want to give back what was given to you. Some are parents, educators, scientists, or friends of the mission who never participated in a program but believe deeply in what it builds. Some have an hour a month; some have a season. All of it matters, and all of it is welcome.
