SSP International, Inc. Announces Expanded Campuses and New International Location for its 2025 Summer Science Program

The nonprofit will run immersive STEM education programs at 12 university campuses across North America, including its first international campus this coming summer.

SSP International, Inc. (SSPI), a nonprofit offering inspiring science immersion experiences, announced it will be hosting its Summer Science Program, one of the nation’s longest-running research-based science education programs for high schoolers, at seven new campuses and its first-ever international campus this summer.

“In order to engage more diverse minds in science and increase accessibility, we must not only expand our programs to universities across the country but also extend our reach globally,” said Frank Steslow, CEO of SSP International, Inc. “At SSP International, we believe in fostering a sense of belonging and community in science. We are more focused than ever on ensuring that any student who has a passion and love for science has an equal opportunity to participate and experience the magic of Summer Science Program!”

SSPI is excited to expand to add The University of Guelph in Canada to its roster, alongside new U.S. partners Albion College, Chadron State College, Colby College, Knox College, Lehigh University, and Pacific University. Summer Science Program provides a unique learning experience designed to accelerate learning, doing, and belonging in science. As part of its latest expansion, the organization introduces cell biology to its list of programs, joining astrophysics, bacterial genomics, biochemistry, and synthetic chemistry, furthering its mission to break down barriers in STEM education and inspire the next generation of scientific leaders.

Along with the addition of the new campuses, Summer Science Program will be returning to Georgia College & State University, Indiana University, New Mexico State University, Purdue University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, University of Colorado Boulder, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. SSP International also welcomes Hendrix College as a 2026 college partner.

The organization is deeply committed to fostering a sense of community in science by bringing together talented high school students, esteemed researchers, and STEM leaders at top universities each summer. By intentionally targeting communities underrepresented in science and shifting admissions policies to be more inclusive, SSP International is opening pathways to educational enrichment opportunities. At Summer Science Program, students not only gain hands-on experience conducting scientific experiments with real-world impact, but they also have the opportunity to live on a college campus, connect with like-minded peers, and become more confident in themselves.
