Colby Astro Blog – Day 31
Today we were blessed with no lecture. Just pure locking in from 9 to 12 before heading over to lunch.

Ft. Pauline, me, Remi, Clara, Owen
Then, back to Keyes to work on our reports and presentations again–with a side of horseplaying.

Ft. Sergio’s glow down and Muzaffer’s cute baby photo!
Ft. Ardashir, me, Helen, Amiya, Anthony, Jerry, Remi, and Sergio
And wonderful news: the Collins Observatory is back up and running!!!!! After almost three weeks of maintenance, which had deprived us of observations, we hiked up to the observatory to make fun observations–pointing towards Saturn, the Ring Nebula, the Hercules Nebula, and some other clusters.

Here…behold–SATURN!!!!

Viewed through the eyepiece of the telescope itself, we got to see the very shadow imprinted on the body of this beautiful planet. It was surreal, a sight I will never forget.
Finally, after countless 10-second exposure photos,
Ft. My team: Niyathi, me, and JohnPeter
my bestie and roommate 🙂
and my child, Gurt Jr. VI under the stars,
we returned back to the dorm at 1am for two cups of ramen and a few rounds of cambio before heading to bed.
Good night.
