CUB Astro Day 31
Every single night me and my roommate promise each other to wake up for a breakfast, yet every single morning we wake up at almost 8:40 a.m. Today was not an exception. My teammate Koen and I were pretty sure we didn’t have to be at SBO by 9; Wenxi was woken up to knock on our doors as we were heading out of the dorm.
Entering the computer lab, one could witness 35 struggling ssp-ers. Some (my poor Koen) spent hours fixing a bug in the OD code that never existed. As there’s only two of us in team 10, the whole day all we’ve been praying for was for our third member to magically appear. Looking around, I saw many people crashing out; I’m pretty sure every single team was doing more than fine, though.
Right before going to dinner, we received our fancy T-shirts designed by our fellow peers (shoutout to Cash and others).
6 pm: For dinner, I ate as fast as I could before we rushed back to SBO. One important part of the data was still missing, and we only had 2 hours to go.
7 pm: I’m finishing the abstract, and waiting to fill out gaps in paper.
7:19 p.m: Turns out, we have always had the values, we were just misinterpreting them. I’m just fully trusting my teammate at this point. Dr. D starts his countdown, as some teams start to print out their papers.

7 minutes to go: The fast typing would really help.
3 minutes to go: Final touches. Print. Turn in. Submit.
8 pm: Everyone is now free. I am genuinely so proud of each ss-peer, the amount of work and persistence can only be inspirational. (insert image) This exhausting day was followed by the boba party!!! We went to the Boba place to celebrate our victory! Dr. Z pulled up with his two beautiful dog.

The party was not over. We came back to classroom, and Marcus prepared the Karaoke for us. It was so much fun, we were dancing around, singing all kinds of songs. I think the end of the day was perfect. In fact, I wouldn’t mind writing 100 more of these papers, if it meant for us to stay together for a little while longer.

The end of my blog I want to dedicate to all wonderful friends I’ve made throughout the program. Every single day was so special, full of joy and happiness. I love you guys a lot, even though I don’t really say it. Thank you guys so much for your existence. I really love all our TA’s. You are always there for us, supporting, caring and even joking around. I really love Ms. Mathew, Dr. D, Dr. Z, and Dr. F. You all are genuinely the best people. I also think that I got the best teammate, and I think this is a common knowledge.
Given 1000 choices, I would always choose him to be in my team, to be my friend.

P.S. I stole some pictures from discord and instagram. thanks guys, giving credits to whoever took pics.
