Knox Astro Blog – Day 12
Hey guys, this is my SSP blog post for 7/11/2025!!
This blog starts off a little messy, I woke up at 9:30 accidentally and had to run to class and skip breakfast! To be honest I usually skip breakfast but sadly today skipping it was not a conscious decision…
After collapsing on the table from sprinting to class, I was promptly hit in the face with a Taylor Series lecture and Vector calc which was extra hard because I forgot to grab a celsius! Definitely made everything a little harder but it’s okay because Tayne and Aryaman tried tutoring E&M Physics to me through vector math, which helped me understand it a little more. Shoutout to those geniuses <3

Following an iconic and hearty Knox College lunch (shoutout to the amazing cooks as well) I sat back down in the classroom for afternoon lecture, where Dr. F proved each of the Kepler’s Laws to us through differential equations! This was a very exciting and simultaneously confusing lecture for me, but he said it was a proof that every physicist should do once in their life, so I was excited to see it written out and I’m excited to do it myself!

Brain break with Rhea, Cynthia, Don, and Hamza:

Luyao’s Cute Integral:

After grinding PSET 3 with Cynthia, Hamza, and Don after dinner, we went on a midnight walk and talked more about home life, what it was like living in different settings and even countries like Hamza’s experience in Pakistan, and enjoyed the light breeze.

I’ve loved this camp so much!! You guys have taught me so much about being humble and comfortable being confused and feeling lost.
Shoutout to Dr. Rocky for his inspiring quote, “You should seek out and look forward to opportunities where you are the dumbest person in a room, because you will learn from them.”
I’ve learned a lot and changed already after 2 weeks of camp, and I’m excited to finish this out with this amazing group of individuals!
