CUB Astro Day 19
Today started off strong: instead of lecture, we went on a field trip to the Denver Zoo. At 8:30, we boarded our bus and drove over to Denver. Notwithstanding a lengthy trip to the gift shop, we were moving from the second we arrived to the second we left! We saw all kinds of animals, from lions to ostriches to a 28-year-old talking parrot.

After the zoo, we went into Downtown Denver, where all 40-some of us had pizza at SliceWorks. After as much pizza as we SSPers could handle, we headed over to Denver Museum of Nature & Science. There, groups split off and searched for some interesting exhibits. A lot of us went straight to “Space Odyssey” (go figure), where we toured everything from a star tunnel to the surface of Mars. There were many other exhibits too! The museum had halls of extinct animals (dinosaurs, trilobites, etc.) and ancient peoples, as well as my personal favorite: a temporary exhibition of “Angkor: The Lost Empire of Cambodia.”

Then we took a Target run and headed back to CUB—the UMC was calling our names. After dinner we set off for SBO as we have a p-set due tonight! Hopefully no one stays up too late.
Until tomorrow,
