SWOSU Day 25: Crystal Day!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone, this is Wynter and this is my day at SSP!! I woke up at 6:30 and snoozed my alarm until 7:30, at which point I was almost late. I got ready faster than I previously knew possible, grabbed a redbull, and sprinted to CPP at 7:55. Today in lab my team was doing crystallizations!! Unfortunately my zinc compound was only soluble in 2 compounds and I had very little compound left by the end but my copper compound was literally perfect and bright purple! It was so cute!! After that I ran and IR and my zinc had some weird peaks to be honest but it turns out it was just water that got in my compound ☹️

After spending the full four hours in lab, my team and I went to the grill. I got a blt and a KitKat, both of which were fire. After lunch my team and I ran to the bookstore to try to buy SWOSU hoodies but sadly they don’t take American Express so I’ll have to come back another day ☹️
I found myself once again running to CPP and just barely making it in time for our inorganic lecture. I’m going to be completely honest, I understood maybe 50% of that lecture but we persevere. About half way through the lecture my roommate Emma got super nauseous and had to leave though which was sad!!
After that we had organic which I understood a lot better and I finished my redbull so I was completely awake during this one!! Plus dr. Ellis brought back his tea cart which made the whole thing 10x better.
When I got back to my dorm to change into my formal clothes Emma’s leg totally cramped up (she hasn’t taken her calcium in 2 days) so I was running around the dorm looking for a TA and a heating pack before I eventually had to leave.
At dinner I was with Catey, Allyson, and Reya which was super fun!! We talked about Catey’s EMT work and our favorite grocery stores, it was all around a very nice dinner. The food wasn’t too bad either (I ate two fruit pizzas help). Emma also showed up half way through dinner cause she felt bad for missing it (???) and was hurting all the way back to Oklahoma Hall. Once we were back there I found myself running around again on the hunt for Tums. I ended up settling for bringing back an ice pack, running alcohol for Emma to smell, and some (mildly frightening) off brand antacids before heading back to CPP to do homework.
We have an o-chem problem set due tomorrow so I was locked in for two hours trying to figure out what was even going on. Needless to say I recruited a lot of people to tutor me. At like 8, Avneesh recruited me to help him figure out question of the day instead. It was a cryptic crossword clue and honestly Amogh takes cryptic to a whole new level because I was very confused. I think we figured it out (???) but I’m not certain of anything when it comes to QOD if I’m honest.

After that we headed back to the dorms and a big group of us just sat around and spilled all our relationship lore until 11:30. Our RA Tate is a real one for putting up with us because we might have gotten a bit passionate about some peoples (actually evil) exes. After that I came back to my room and chatted with Emma for a while and now I’m writing this!! Also Sonic emailed me twice while I was writing this so now I feel like a fatty. Anyways, that was my day at SSP today, and it was a pretty nice one 🙂↕️
