SWOSU Day 35: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story

Hey there!!!! (Again)

It is our second to last day of the program! It is such a bittersweet thought to think that we will be leaving in 24 hours. However, I could not even enjoy those thoughts because our final draft of the paper was due today… AT NOON.

So as one does, I woke up in a rush, like always, and made my towards CPP. In CPP I drank my last redbull of the week and focused on revising our grammar and finding new sourcing to cite. After going so I just provided emotional support to my team and finished updating my notebook. And then we turned in our paper!!!!!! We were so happy and left while eating Subway (I ate a lot).

At the dorms. I worked on putting my makeup on and changing into a more appropriate and professional outfit… which unfortunate consisted of heels. (I later regretted this option when I had to run to the building where we spent the rest of the night).

After so long (a five minute walk), Joy and i both got there, unfortunately a bit late, but still!!! And then our poster session began.

Everyone did so amazingly good, I am SO proud of our cohort. Also, apparently I am super funny, which I love.

Anyways, after the poster session we had TA talks, which were so interesting. I now know how to pick locks, win at poker, 5 reasons to not become an EMT, and why rock climbing is actually super scary but doable????

Anyhow, then it was dinner!!!! We had Luigi’s, which is pasta (my favorite guilty pleasure). I unfortunately ate a lot. Also here is a not staged photograph of everyone!

After dinner we took photographs and just had a few moments to ourselves. During these we talked, laughed, and wondered about tomorrow. And then, we had our awards ceremony.

I did not take any pictures because I was truly immersed in the moment. However, I will remember it forever.

Afterwards, my team and I got very emotional and began taking many pictures.

I love my team.

After all of this, many of us pulled all nighters, while others slept. I happened to be an attempter because I, in fact, stayed up only to four and then knocked out. (Packing was tooooo hard at three in the morning) Watching Hamilton with everyone was a really good time though!! (As you can probably tell from my blog entries I love Hamilton)

Anyways, that brings me to the end of my blog. There is so many things to say, so many left unsaid, and so many memories to reminisce about. These past five weeks were such a dream, and I would choose to spend them the same way all over again.

I hope everyone who’s reading this, and even those who are not, are able to pave their path in just the right way. I am wishing you all the best in college application season, and if you are reading this afterwards, I hope the journey was a good one. And to those not yet in that position, your time will come.

Thank you everyone! I love you all 🩷.

Allyson

Hi guys!!! My name is Allyson and I am from Atlanta (I also grew up in Oklahoma!). I love listening to music, baking, and spending time with loved ones. However, my favorite pastime is researching my niche favorite animals (HUGE Komodo dragon fan here). I can’t wait to experience all of SSP!
